EY APAC Tax Symposium
Year: 2021
Company: MCI
Campaign Type: Zoom Webinar

The EY Asia-Pacific Tax Symposium is one of EY’s most significant annual gatherings. In 2021, with international travel still limited, the event transitioned into a fully digital experience — and to ensure it remained fresh, engaging, and future-focused, we developed a bespoke 3D virtual environment known as the EY House. This immersive space featured three custom-designed virtual backdrops used by speakers dialling in from around the world, giving the digital event a premium and cohesive visual identity.
The symposium brought together attendees across 32 countries, attracting 1,900+ participants from 1,085 companies into the EY House. Across the multi-day programme, we delivered 8 plenary sessions, 14 breakout sessions, and supported 83 speakers, including VIP speakers who were filmed from a partnered studio in London while still being seamlessly integrated into the EY House environment.
I was involved from the earliest conceptualisation phase, working closely with EY’s global teams over a three-month planning timeline, coordinating across time zones including London, India, and Singapore.
My scope covered:
• Developing all digital assets — RSVP pages, content videos, and presentation slides
• Designing the 3D virtual space and its environments
• Full speaker management — from briefings to tech checks, pre-recordings, and live support
• Coordinating with an external London studio to record VIP speakers and incorporate them into the EY House
• Technical testing and rehearsal planning to ensure seamless transitions
• Pre-recording and editing all speaker content to mitigate connectivity risks
• Live showcalling and real-time webinar management
• Delivering post-event assets, including highlight videos

The result was a polished, interactive, and highly scalable digital experience that set a new benchmark for EY’s virtual events in the region.
